BOD Meeting September 12 Cancelled due to Hurricaine Irma Preparations and Safety Concerns.

September 6, 2017

To All Navy Leaguers, BOD and Officers,

Due to Hurricane Irma and the early preparations I will be canceling our regularly scheduled September 12 meeting until after assessments are done relating to Hurricane Irma. The new meeting date will include a special meeting before the regular meeting to discuss the draft proposal of bylaw updates and revisions. That will be 1 1/2 hours to review and discuss from 9:00- 11:30 before the re-scheduled meeting on September 19, 2017 at 11:30-13:00.

If it needs to be pushed to a different date we can do that too depending on the impact of the Hurricane Irma. Until then be safe.

If the hurricane misses we will be very appreciative and grateful.

Please be safe and make early preparations just in case. Many are flying out this Friday depending on future weather reports. Keep informed and do take the warning seriously. Our Corpus Cristi and Houston friends have been devastated by Harvey and we continue to assist with our support to the Sea Services and their families. Coast Guard Mutual Aid has been accepting donations for the Hurricane in Houston and surrounding areas. Louisiana has also  been affected.

If you are in Florida 54 Counties have been declared a State of Emergency. We must take this seriously. We were very lucky that earlier this year Hurricane Matthew missed our vicinity for the impact predicted. Some of us were affected.

Safety first.  If possible send a note as to your plans to evacuation so we will know you are safe. If you are out of town remain until we have the all clear. If anyone needs assistance call the emergency numbers provided.

I will post this information to our website.
